Cohesive Typographic Composition, created in 2022.

While enrolled in a typography class, I was instructed to create 4 unique but also cohesive typographic compositions. These compositions surrounded a particular theme, allowing each work to relate to each other. I chose the motif of repeated fine lines and contrasting lights and darks. In Adobe Indesign, I designed a play script, a museum poster, a poem card, and a recipe page. Additionally, each composition had a specific restriction within the design. For example, one composition required us to use the same size and type of font while another required us to have specific text alignments. I found this assignment difficult as I was not used to working with so many restrictions. As a result, I was introduced to the concept of type hierarchy; I had to create a hierarchy within the type without changing the size of the type. When presenting this project, I printed and cut my compositions using glossy presentation paper.
